The Farm-to-Market Supply Chain Study, led by the AnselFarm team, revolutionized the agricultural supply chain for a cooperative in the Maldives. By addressing inefficiencies that had long hindered farmers and consumers, the project created a streamlined, cost-effective system for transporting fresh produce. The initiative reduced waste, minimized delays, and increased profitability, setting the stage for a more sustainable and resilient local food system.

With a deep commitment to delivering impactful solutions, the AnselFarm team began by conducting a comprehensive analysis of the existing supply chain. Bottlenecks, including high transportation costs, delays, and post-harvest losses, were identified. Based on these findings, tailored strategies were implemented to optimize the movement of goods from farms to markets, ensuring produce reached consumers faster and in optimal condition.

Supply Chain Mapping
AnselFarm conducted a detailed mapping of the cooperative’s supply chain to identify inefficiencies in transportation routes, storage practices, and distribution timelines. This analysis revealed critical areas for improvement, such as overly complex logistics networks and inadequate storage facilities that led to significant spoilage of fresh produce.

To address the identified issues, AnselFarm introduced streamlined logistics solutions. These included optimized transportation schedules, direct routes to markets, and the installation of cold storage units at strategic points. These measures reduced delivery times by 25%, ensuring that consumers received fresher, higher-quality produce.

The enhanced efficiency directly benefited farmers by reducing transportation costs, allowing them to retain a larger share of their profits.
